Howard County Community Hospice to Host Free Eight Week Grief Support Group
This free group will meet Mondays from October 5 – November 23rd from 5:30-7:00 PM on the Regional Health Services of Howard County campus in Cresco.
(Cresco, IA) Howard Community Hospice will be hosting their fifth annual book based support group starting on Monday, October 5 and running through Monday, November 23. The group will meet from 5:30-7:00 on the Regional Health Service of Howard County campus. Participants will be provided with heavy refreshments each week and a book and journal to keep. The group will be facilitated by Brecka Putnam, a Licensed Master Social Worker and Certified Grief Support Specialist at Howard County Community Hospice, and Debbie Reicks, Howard County Hospice volunteer and former group participant.
“This group is my people. They get it. They grieve with me,” said a former participant, “They helped me turn painful memories into cherished moments, giving me a sense of peace.”
The group is open to anyone adults grieving the death of someone special; deaths do not need to be hospice related. Participants are required to register with Putnam by calling 563-547-6346 or emailing brecka.putnam@rhshc.com by October 2.
